The <b>Blue Blowfly</b> is a common scavenger and important as an identifying species in forensics. Amongst the more common flies, <i>Calliphora vicina</i> really stands out in terms of size and color. While I couldn't find any literature on that, I feel like this fly likes to be high up. I rarely see any of them on the ground and near small plants. I do, however, see them on high up balconies and roofs a lot, spending time sitting in the sun.
