About
The Nile crocodile is a large species of crocodile native to over 26 countries in Africa. Despite its name it is not only found in and near the river Nile that spans a total of eleven countries. The species is assumed to have been around in its current state for 5 to 7 million years and has influenced several African cultures. In Ancient Egyptian culture it was ever-present in the form of the crocodile-headed God Sobek/Suchus.
