About
The Common hedgehog is native all over Europe and in parts of Western Asia. There is also a big population in New Zealand. The hedgehog can be found in the wild but is also a common synanthropic species roaming busy cities, smalltown and - to its own demise - highways. It is a very common roadkill and has been added to the IUCN Red List as a potentially soon threatened species.
