About
African Collared-Dove also known as Laughing Dove for the way they actually "laugh" in between pigeon-like coos.
Since they aren't native to Germany, they can only be seen in zoos and private pigeon cots. Some of them make their way to Southern European countries like Italy, Spain and Portugal. They love a tropical climate and can be spotted from North Africa to Southeast Asia and the Southern parts of the US.
Like most pigeons and doves, these doves are very interested in all human activity and seek out towns and cities for easy access to food in parks and cultivated forests. They feed on seeds, fruit, insects and snails.
