About

Very calm Common Wood-Pigeon

The Common Wood-Pigeon is one of the most common pigeons in Europe. It is not a domesticated species, unlike Columba livia var. domestica but lives in quiet parts of cities and towns, nesting and sleeping in the trees of parks, cemeteries and city forests. It can also be found way outside of human settlements in the woods and around river scapes.

The Common Wood-Pigeon feeds mostly on acorns, beechnuts and natural grains. It is a territorial bird living in pairs. Outside of their territory they tend to form groups searching for food together.
